Located in Irving, La Villita Elementary is the district’s twenty-seventh elementary campus and is the sixth school campus built in the city of Irving. La Villita Elementary boasts a unique school design that is a perfect fit for the Spanish colonial style of the neighborhood development. The designs uses wood, stone, glass, dynamic spaces and multiple courtyards to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing learning environment for students.

Awards and Distinctions

  • Dr. Burns won Superintendent of the Year for 2015 and Dr. Lance Hamlin of Blalack won Secondary Principal of the Year from the Texas PTA.
  • CFBISD graduates earned over $29 million in scholarships in 2015. The Early College High School program graduated 79 students and earned $1.3 million of that total.
  • The CFBISD graduation rate is above the state average at 93%. The average rate in Texas is 88%.
  • List ItemCFBISD has produced seven Gates Millennium Scholars in the past several years. This is a full ride scholarship to a University of choice for the recipient to earn an undergraduate degree, a masters degree and a Ph.D. There are only 1,000 chosen from the United States each year.
  • CFBISD Fine Arts has been awarded “Best 100 Communities for Music Education” eight times.
  • Since 1998, CFBISD has taught every 4th-grade student how to swim through a water safety program.
  • CFBISD offers the International Baccalaureate Program from elementary through high school. This is a qualification recognized by Universities all over the world.
  • Students graduating with an IB Diploma are 21% more likely to be admitted into ten of the most prestigious universities.
  • In CFBISD, high school students have the opportunity to graduate with certifications through our high school academies preparing them for a career right out of high school.
  • CFBISD has offered the Two Way Dual Language Program since 2006 in grades K-5. This program offers the opportunity for native English speakers and native Spanish speakers to learn to read, write and speak in both languages.
